Under general direction, the K-2 MTSS Intervention Support Specialist is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Specialists provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. Specialists monitor student progress through various platforms, including the GCA approved curriculum and resources, and they actively work closely with teachers, students, and parents/Learning Coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals. Specialists typically work from home but must travel occasionally throughout the year to various school functions, for state testing and as may be otherwise required by the school.

50% Kindergarten AIM Support
Provides intervention supports for Kindergarten AIM students at a Tier 2 level of support; Keeps attendance reports on student participation.
Maintains weekly lesson plans for Kindergarten AIM classes.
Collaborates with K-2 MTSS Team with data collection of Tier 3 progress monitoring for students that are served.
Supports all Early Intervention Program/Academic Interventions Monitoring (EIP/AIM) teachers in implementing academic supports.
Grades students’ writing samples and gather running records students.
Provides analyzed work samples for all students on caseload for SST and eligibility meetings.
Attends SST/RTI meetings.
Attends students’ eligibility meetings for Special Education.
Gathers weekly Progress Monitoring data points including Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension, Language, Written Expression, and Math for students per SST plan of action.
Creates standards-based interventions in Math and/or ELA per grade level requirements.
50% Language Support (K-12 Language Intervention/K-2 Dyslexia Support)
Provides intervention supports and collects progress monitoring for 1st and 2nd grade students identified for dyslexia support during AIM classes; Keeps attendance reports on student participation.
Collaborates with K-2 MTSS Team with data collection of Tier 3 progress monitoring for students that are served.
Supports all Early Intervention Program/Academic Interventions Monitoring (EIP/AIM) teachers in implementing academic supports.
Grades students’ writing samples and gather running records students.
Provides analyzed work samples for all students on caseload for SST and eligibility meetings.
Attends SST/RTI meetings.
Attends students’ eligibility meetings for Special Education.
Gathers bi-weekly Progress Monitoring data points including Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension, Language, and Written Expression for students per SST plan of action.
Implements speech/language interventions and collects speech progress monitoring data for students K-12
Collaborates with school speech-language pathologist to create student intervention plans
General Duties
Emails communication to Learning Coach/staff.
Attends school and district meetings.
Assists RTI/MTSS Supervisor and Coordinator with gathering data for Special Education referrals.
Takes ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in student’s achievement.
Is available and open to be coached on a regular basis with administrators and instructional coaches.
Meets with administration, collaborating teachers, students, and parents/Learning Coaches to discuss student progress and instructional supports through the MTSS process.
Analyzes student data to support evidence of instructional support decisions

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent to 4 years of experience in field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Great organizational and time management skills
Strong language intervention background and prior experience working with students with dyslexia

Speech Licensure/Certification
Proficient in Infinite Campus (SIS)
Proficient in Canvas (LMS)
Proficient in Jigsaw Interactive (live classroom delivery platform)
Proficient in iReady
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Valid Georgia professional educator certification
Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in MS Excel, MSWord, and Outlook
Proficient in G-Suite
Proficient in use of Zoom conferencing tool
Strong technology skills
Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

This is a home-based position.
During critical deadlines, in-office days may be required.
This position may require traveling up to 10% of the time.
In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, meetings, evaluations, school events, job fairs, marketing events, and testing sites will be required several times per year.
Light lifting may be required.
