Furlow Charter School
Furlow Charter School seeks exceptional and innovative educators for a variety of positions for the 2017-18 school year. The school’s mission is to offer an innovative approach to public education by encouraging critical thinking and multi-disciplinary learning through an active and engaging education. FCS is committed to fostering cultural awareness, social responsibility, and academic awareness through family and community involvement in the development of life-long learners. FCS employs project-based learning, requires Spanish language education and fine arts education K-12, and implements service learning. FCS is a division of the Sumter County School System and is located in Americus, GA. The school is currently K-9 and will add an additional grade each year until it is K-12.
Ideal candidates will show a deep understanding of project-based learning; will motivate, and inspire students to be excited about teaching and learning; and will engage parents and the community as active partners in the learning experience. Candidates need to show academic success, innovative problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
