Description
Serves as the instructional and organizational leader of Hapeville Charter Middle School.
Essential Duties
- Promotes the success of all students by developing, advocating, and sustaining an academically rigorous, positive, and safe school climate for all stakeholders.
- Coordinates parent groups such as P.T.S.A. and the School Advisory Committee; Represents the school to the community at large
- Works with the assistant principal, counselors, and faculty to establish and maintain an educational program consistent with the Board’s philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Approves and supervises all expenditures within the school; approves purchase orders
- Assumes responsibility for the financial solvency of the school
- Interviews, recommends employment, supervises, and evaluates school personnel
- Establishes rules and regulations for proper student conduct that are consistent with the policies of the Board and maintains student discipline
- Assess the strengths of the school, identifies the weaknesses, and takes supportive or corrective action as the situation demands
- Prepares 5-year projections for periodic evaluations, defining goals and redefining objectives commensurate with changes in the school population
- Ensures that the school is in compliance with local, State, and Federal laws, reports, and regulations

Additional Responsibilities
- Oversees maintenance and general upkeep of the school facility and grounds
- Maintains professional growth through reading, participation in professional organizations and/or activities
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
- Supervise athletic/ student events
- Clear the school and close facilities as Scheduled
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership is required; higher degree is preferred
- Certification/Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for the appropriate Georgia Leadership Certification in the area of Educational Leadership
- Experience: Minimum 1 year successful experience in public school administration and/or supervision plus a minimum of 5 years certified school experience required; experience as a classroom teacher at the applicable grade level preferred

- Ability to organize programs, personnel, and activities required for productive learning in the school
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
- Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple, or complex
- Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
- Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
