Georgia Charter Schools Association invites you to Innovations in Public Education Today. Those attending the first of three dynamic education forums will view the critically acclaimed film “Most Likely to Succeed” on Monday, April 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Decatur Library Auditorium.
The documentary film describes how the current U.S. educational system, which was developed a century ago, leaves many graduates unprepared for the 21st century. In contrast, the film features students and teachers at High Tech High, a public charter school in San Diego that has reimagined the school experience in order to prepare students for the global economy. The film asks viewers to consider which type of educational environment is most likely to succeed in the 21st century.
The viewing will also include a candid conversation on the film and recent changes in education. Panelists that will take part in the discussion include: Georgia Senator Elena Parent, District 42; Georgia Rep. Rahn Mayo, District 84; Dr. Cayanna Good, Deputy Director of Innovation and Academic Strategy for the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and Katherine Kelbaugh, Principal of the Museum School of Avondale Estates.
