This summer, we invite you to join the Georgia Charter Schools Association at the 2018 National Charter Schools Conference (NCSC18) June 17-20 in Austin, Texas.
We’ve attended the conference for a number of years and always find that it is a valuable learning and networking experience. Attended by more than 4,700 charter school educators, administrators, board members, advocates, and other members of the charter school community, NCSC is an incredible opportunity to meet and learn from the best in the field and further the charter school movement by celebrating our collective good work to move the needle on student achievement. Register by Monday, June 4, to take advantage of the regular registration price.
Not only will there be amazing networking opportunities at NCSC18, but the content will be top-notch. Elisa Falco, GCSA’s Vice President of School Services (pictured on the left), has been selected to present during a breakout session at the conference along with Kelli R. Peterson, Ed.D, Executive Director of Equality Initiatives for the Orleans Parish School Board. The session will focus on how charter school boards can effectively govern. Participants will be equipped with tools to recruit diverse members, create training plans and know the right questions to ask their school leader along with the documentation that they should seek to be a part of the conversation rather than just the fire extinguisher.
Those attending will also hear from keynote speakers like Sydney Chaffee, the first National Teacher of the Year from a charter school, and engage in advanced learning opportunities on critical topics such as recruiting and retaining quality educators, diversity and inclusion, finance and facilities management, and understanding what ESSA means for your school. You’ll be able to meet educators and leaders from the flourishing charter school community in Texas while exploring the vibrant food and music scenes of Austin.
We trust you’ll enjoy the NCSC18 experience and invite you to join us and 4,700 of our charter school colleagues in Austin for a few days of learning, networking, and fun.
