Governance Training – Whole Board Team Training
GADOE requires every locally-approved charter school to participate in a 3-hour, live whole board team training annually. GCSA can create and facilitate a training that addresses your current board priorities and meets these requirements.
Governance Training – Digital Governance Series
GCSA publishes a digital governance series to assist boards with meeting their annual training requirements. A subscription to the digital governance series provides the whole board with full access to on-demand and live webinar training content.

Leader/Board transition support
Each year, numerous leadership transitions take place in our member schools. Turnover is slightly higher in the charter school landscape as compared to traditional public school leadership due to the unique challenges of implementing and running high quality charter schools. GCSA can provide customized support during periods of transitions as well as assist boards with proactively planning for upcoming leader transitions.
Charter Renewal Training for Boards
Charter boards play a critical role in the charter renewal process. GCSA can train your board on the process as well as provide your board with suggestions and strategies for a successful charter renewal.
Policy Templates
GCSA maintains a policy manual with fundamental policies that cover governance, finance, operations, academics and federal programs. Policies are updated periodically through a comprehensive legal review. Policies can be purchased as a complete manual or by category. Policies are not available for individual purchase.
Effective Leader Oversight and Evaluation
Managing, supporting, developing and evaluating a charter school leader can be a challenging process for charter boards. GCSA provides targeted training and support in this area. Cohesion between the board and leadership are essential to charter school quality and success.

Digital Governance Subscription
The GCSA Digital Governance Subscription give boards access to a comprehensive package of digital governance training. The series will allow board members to meet the requirements of SBOE Rule 160-4-9-.06 and increase the effectiveness of their practice.
This year, with your GCSA Digital Governance subscription, you will have 3 ways to learn the content and strategies needed for effective charter school oversight.
Board Boost
Board Boost is a forum of 60-minute sessions, where we tackle some of the most common governance challenges and explore critical topics, such as succession planning, onboarding, academic oversight, and effective school leader oversight. During these sessions, participants will engage with members of other boards to share solutions from the field during our facilitated discussions. During these sessions, you will learn of best practices and receive resources you can use immediately to boost the effectiveness of your board.
LIVE Webinars
The live webinar series will have the same great content as our on-demand offerings with the added bonus of giving you the chance to ask questions relevant to your specific school. New to a board? Use our live webinar series to build your understanding of foundational governance issues.
ON-DEMAND Webinars
We will continue to offer the On-Demand Governance Webinar Series so you can get the training you need when you want it! New webinars will be rolled out throughout the FY21 season, providing you with the foundational content and strategies needed for effective oversight.
The subscription fee for the digital governance series is $750.00.
