POSITION TITLE: Certified Early Childhood Teacher, Physical Education/Health
DEPARTMENT: Academic
REPORTS TO: Head of School
SALARY SCHEDULE: Certified Staff
WORK DAYS: 190
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Teaches movement concepts in conjunction with awareness of body parts and spatial awareness (personal, group, and general space); analyzes, demonstrates, and explains fundamental loco motor skills and non-loco motor patterns for movement skills such as running, hopping, jumping, galloping, twisting, turning or bending. Fosters team activities and team sports to encourage good sportsmanship, cooperation, and strategic thinking. Creates a balanced physical education program; provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible. Also teaches health utilizing grade appropriate GADOE standards.
Works cooperatively with other specials teachers during instructional planning to support the provision of an inclusive and differentiated curriculum. Also possesses creative thinking to enhance our current program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Minimum
- Certified in Early Childhood Education
- Passed GACE
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- An Understanding of SEL

- Organized, Professional, Attention to Detail
Job Description: The certified teacher should be qualified in the following areas:
- Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
- Plan, organize, and assign activities that promote higher order thinking skills
- Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
- Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Participate in professional development on and off campus
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
