Georgia’s public charter schools are helping boost Georgia’s overall high school graduation rate. New data from the Georgia Department of Education show that students attending charter high schools graduate at higher rates than the statewide average.
In 2025, Georgia’s charter high schools achieved a 91.08% four-year graduation rate, compared with the statewide rate of 88.5%. Notably, 59% of charter high schools graduated at least 95% of their students in four years, compared with 39% of non-charter high schools. Additionally, 18.2% of charter high schools achieved a 100% graduation rate, compared with 2% of non-charter high schools.
Georgia’s statewide graduation rate increased to 88.5% in 2025, marking the highest rate since the state adopted the federally mandated adjusted cohort calculation in 2011. With charter high schools graduating students at rates above the statewide average, they are helping contribute to this continued progress.
