Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Exceptional Education Teacher to inspire and empower students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to individual student goals, creating an inclusive environment that supports growth, independence, and confidence. Your expertise will help students overcome challenges related to disabilities, autism, visual impairments, and other developmental differences, ensuring they receive the highest quality education and support. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and parents, to create comprehensive support plans.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including curriculum development, learning technology integration, and adaptive teaching strategies for students with disabilities.
- Implement behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide specialized instruction in areas such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, music therapy, physical education, and recreational therapy.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral data while ensuring compliance with educational standards and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license in special education or equivalent credentials.
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), visual impairments, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, IEP planning, and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools and assistive devices used in special education settings.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy techniques, literacy strategies, math instruction, and other therapeutic modalities is highly desirable.
