In May 2015, GCSA presented to Dr. Charles Knapp, chair of the Education Reform Commission’s Funding Committee. Susan Andrews, Director for Education Reform for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, and two members of the Funding Committee were also present. Kathleen Mathers, a board member of Latin Academy Charter School and former Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA), was asked to facilitate the discussions. Presenters included Chris Clemons, founder and managing director of Latin Academy Charter School; Jarod Apperson, a board member of The Kindezi Schools, Dean Leeper, Executive Director of The Kindezi Schools; and Cheryl Weathersby, Business Manager & Chief Financial Officer of Pataula Charter Academy.
