A Call to Action:
Charter Schools Rally at the Capitol Set for Nov. 6
It’s time to let our voices and concerns be heard!
A rally in support of charter public schools and the quality options these schools of choice are providing the families and communities of Georgia will be held on Friday, November 6, 10 a.m. to noon on the front steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
Throughout our state and nation, we are witnessing leaders on both sides of the isle demanding more quality K12 charter school options to be made available for families and communities. This is your opportunity to participate in the first rally of this magnitude in Georgia and to say in one united voice: “We support our current charter schools and want more charter public schools in Georgia.”
Washington Street in front of the Capitol will be closed in anticipation of 1,000+ charter school supporters we expect to participate in the rally, which will allow you to hear from legislative, charter school and education leaders from Georgia and from around the nation. As this event will draw local and national media attention, you are strongly encouraged to bring students, parents, family members and others to participate, showing all of Georgia that public school options through chartering are wanted and needed throughout our state.
- Various parking lots are within walking distance of the Capitol and MARTA’s Georgia State University Station (Station East 1) is just across the street from the Capitol.
- While hand held signs are welcome showing your support, please do not use poles, stakes or any other object to hold up signs. The Capitol police will confiscate those signs.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Georgia Charter Schools Association’s office at 404-835-8900.
