A free community meeting on school choice options is coming to Warner Robins on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 6-8 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 207 North Willie Lee Parkway, Warner Robins, GA , 31093.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the Georgia Charter Schools Association and The Center for an Educated Georgia, will feature a screening of the new documentary, Making the Grade in Georgia. The 30 minute film confronts Georgia’s 48th place national ranking in academic performance, its 65% high student dropout rate, and shows how more educational freedom of choice can benefit all students. It also explores educational alternatives such as tuition-free charter schools, home schooling, online virtual schools, hybrid schools and more.
Making the Grade in Georgia brings dozens of expert interviews to bear, including principals, parents, teachers, lawmakers, policy experts and legislators, to show all sides of the school choice issue.
A question and answer session with representatives from the Georgia Charter Schools Association and the Center for an Educated Georgia will follow the film. Seating is limited. For further information contact: Nina Rubin, 404-835-8903.
