Georgia Charter Schools Association (GCSA) is pleased to announce that Hannah Heck has been named Chair of GCSA’s Board of Directors. Heck’s knowledge about charter schools and expertise in law, state government, and education are the perfect combination for her new role in overseeing the only nonprofit membership organization that advocates for and supports Georgia’s public charter schools. Heck succeeds Frank Morris as Board Chair.
“I’m grateful for the outstanding service of Frank Morris as Board Chair, says Tony Roberts.” I believe Hannah Heck’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the education policy and governance areas will be extremely valuable to our work. I am confident she will perform the duties of Chair with equal passion and commitment to GCSA as we work to elevate public schools so students can have a brighter future.”
Heck is currently a Principal at Efficere, LLC/Missio Praxis and Vice Chair of Westside Atlanta Charter School’s Board of Directors. In 2015, she served on Governor Nathan Deal’s Education Reform Commission and the School Choice Subcommittee.
Prior to law school, Heck worked for five years as Policy Advisor and Director of Policy for Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. She also served on the board of the Georgia Department of Community Health from 2009-2012. Heck received a B.A. in Psychology from Harvard College and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.
