Akaysia Gantt is a fifth grade math and science teacher at Spring Creek Charter Academy. The parent who nominated Ms. Gantt says she is a talented and caring educator who helps students excel.
“Ms. Gantt goes above and beyond for all of her students. She is an incredible math teacher who truly makes sure that her students understand what she is teaching,” says the parent who nominated the Spring Creek educator. “She also talks about her students as if they are her own kids, and you can tell how much she loves them and how proud she is of them just in the way she speaks of them.
When schools first shut down, the day after we found out we weren’t going back at all that year, she and the other 4th grade (at the time) teacher drove to every single students’ house across three counties with signs to show them that they loved them and missed them. The kids were absolutely thrilled by this in a time that felt so dark and uncertain. Since then, she has gone above and beyond when we have been shut down or students have been quarantined still providing them with quality education. She is truly a wonderful teacher.”
