Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Andrea Tomlin, a Library Media Specialist at Wesley International Academy. Wesley International Academy is public charter school authorized by the Atlanta Board of Education.
“She touches every kid and every class in our school,” says Wesley International teacher Darolyn McConnell. “She has a big heart and she really cares about children.”
Tomlin has worked as a Library Media Specialist at the school for eight years. She serves all of Wesley International’s K-8 students with a variety of lessons in the areas of literature, research, Digital Citizenship, culture and gardening. She also started and runs Wesley International’s Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl team. She also created and oversees “Phoenix News,” streamed video morning announcements for the entire school body.
“Since I have been at WIA for as long as I have, I have many close relationships with my students, and I value that more than anything,” says Tomlin
Tomlin has also coached Girls on the Run for 15 seasons.
