Anthony Burrell, an award-winning creative director, choreographer and actor, spoke to students at Westside Atlanta Charter School on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Burell shared his personal success story and gave students further insight into what it takes to get into and make it in the entertainment industry. Fourth through sixth-grade students at Westside were given the opportunity to participate in an interactive dance demonstration.
Burrell dedicates himself to dance education and Philanthropy as the Founder and Director of “Breaking Barriers Summer Dance Intensive” and “Project AB.” He continues to work towards creating a legacy in entertainment, arts and education.
Burrell’s accomplishments include playing a crucial creative role on E! Entertainment for “Mariah’s World,” “Mariah Carey’s Vegas Residency 1 to Infinity,” “Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour,” “Un-Silent Night Christmas,” and “All I Want for Christmas at the Beacon Theater.” He was on the creative team for “Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show,” “MTV Music Awards (2016),” “Country Music Awards (2016),” “The Formation World Tour,” and numerous videos. Burrell has received an MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography in Beyonce’s “Formation.”
