The mission of Atlanta SMART Academy is to use science, math and the arts to develop all students into innovative solutionists. Solutionists are students who can propose multiple research-based answers to a variety of real-world problems.
Atlanta SMART Academy is a conduit from elementary school to high school where solutionists develop the creative, critical thinking skills to thrive in a constantly evolving society.

“The opening of Atlanta SMART Academy is significant because it brings my educational career full circle,” said Patrice Meadows, Founder and Executive Director of Atlanta SMART Academy. “I started teaching high school chemistry in southwest Atlanta 15 years ago and have spent the last several years providing a high-quality education for children. Our school provides an engaging, rigorous education that emphasizes critical thinking and creativity through science, math and the arts. We are the only public performing arts middle school in Southwest Atlanta and look forward to serving our families from around the Metro Atlanta area.”
Earlier this month, Atlanta SMART Academy welcomed 120 5th, 6th and 7th-grade founding solutionists. The public charter school is authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia and is thrilled to provide a high-quality school choice option to our families coming from multiple counties around Metro Atlanta and be the first public performing arts middle school in southwest Atlanta.
