Brighten Academy won big at the Georgia Gravity Games. The school swept the games with three first-place finishes out of four categories. Brighten took first place in the stock class, the super stock class, and the engineered class and beat out the Google/Georgia Tech car. Brighten’s derby cars were driven by Alexa Garren (parent) Alain Civil (student), Preston Diller (student), and Roy Garren (student).
“We set out to improve from last year; winning was a bonus!” said Brighten Academy Executive Director Lisa McDonald. “We are so proud of our students and thankful to our community and Google for sponsoring such a fun and educational event.”
The fourth annual Georgia Gravity Games were held in Douglasville on November 4, 2017. Nearly 60 teams from across Georgia competed in the streets of downtown Douglassville in the gravity-powered cars they constructed.
