Brooke Peake is a special education paraprofessional at Pataula Charter Academy. She also stepped in to teach eighth grade ELA/social studies for a portion of the year after one of her coworkers contracted COVID-19. Ms. Peake makes a difference by always putting her students first. She helps them not only academically but also shows them love and support along the way.
During COVID-19 she made sure to always use precautions while working with her students to keep them safe and healthy.
Ms. Peake was nominated by a student who felt inspired by her teaching.
“She substituted for our teacher who couldn’t be in the class because she was immunocompromised, says the Pataula Charter Academy student who nominated her. “She managed to make it more fun and less boring than it really would have been in the classroom, even though I switched to distance learning in the middle of the year.”
