How has Coey Mikel has been innovative, supportive or adapted to distance learning during the COVID-19 crisis?
During the COVID-19 crisis, one of the most important measures is empathy and “compassion over compliance”. Mr. Mikel has continued to provide virtual instruction to scholars, reached out to parents just to “check in” and supported RISE on any instructional agendas and professional learning platforms that are presented. During these unforeseen times, it is comforting to know that an educator, with a family of his own, still understands and has the emotional intelligence to believe in the well-being of the whole scholar.
