On Monday, April 18, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) sent school superintendents and finance directors the following district-level allocations document for the FY 2023 Quality Basic Education (QBE) program. If signed into law by Gov. Kemp, the FY 2023 Appropriations Act (HB 911) would end austerity cuts to Georgia’s K-12 school funding formula.
While HB 911 has not yet been signed by Gov. Kemp, GaDOE says it does not anticipate any changes that would affect these initial allocations. The department plans to send the FY23 Pupil Transportation earnings separately to superintendents and finance directors within the next few weeks.
