Georgia Charter Schools Association is happy to announce that registration for the new Financial Management Certification Program is now open!
GCSA has been approved by the Georgia Department of Education to provide a Financial Management Certification Program. The training is designed to benefit charter school leaders and those in charge of school finances; however, registration is open to all interested charter school personnel and board members. GCSA offers the most rigorous content available.
Participants will learn best practices to ensure sound fiscal management, how to monitor audits, state compliance, how to verify QBE funding and much more.
GCSA’s Financial Management Certification Program includes six courses offered throughout the year. The program costs $300 per 8–hour session, and course offerings begin in October 2019. Participants must complete 48 hours (six 8-hour courses) of training to receive certification. The State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) will provide scholarships for participants in schools authorized by the SCSC. Participants who pay for the full six-course program upfront will receive a 10% discount.
The first program offering (Oct 2019 – Mar 2020) will be located at: Westside Atlanta Charter School 2250 Perry Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30318. Please review the complete 2019-2020 Course Calendar and the 2019-2020 Pricing Guide for additional information.
GCSA’s program is led by former KIPP Metro Atlanta CFO Erika Ellison. If you have any questions, please email Erika Ellison at eellison@gacharters.org or call 470-236-0671.
