The Georgia Charter Schools Association is proud to welcome Rahn Mayo as GCSA’s new Vice President of Policy and Advocacy. Rahn will begin his new position on Monday, July 15, and will serve as the new point of contact for policy and advocacy work as Dr. Bonnie Holliday transitions into the role of GCSA President and CEO.
Rahn is a former political consultant and founder of AIM Government Relations — a government relations firm serving clients like the Georgia Public Policy Foundation and the American Federation for Children. He also founded Education Leadership Council, Inc., an education advocacy non-profit organization that supports various charitable causes and advocates for educational equity, school choice, and reform.
He has extensive experience as a business development professional and several years of employment with Fortune 500 companies, including Honeywell and United Technologies. Rahn has managed the development process for energy infrastructure, sustainability, and retrofit construction projects designed to achieve energy and operational efficiency for charter schools as well as state and local governments.
A former state representative, Rahn was elected by voters in Henry and DeKalb Counties to serve four consecutive terms in the Georgia House of Representatives (2009-2017). During his tenure in the General Assembly, he sponsored and passed legislation strengthening financial accountability and board governance requirements for charter schools, and he effectively reached across the political aisle to pass charter school policies benefiting Georgia students.
Rahn graduated from Howard University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He resides in the City of Atlanta, enjoys taekwondo, pickleball, golf, and spending time with his wife Natali, their four-year-old son Noah, and serving as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.
