Georgia’s public charter schools are boosting the state’s graduation rate. New data from the Georgia Department of Education show that students attending a charter high school are more likely to graduate. In 2025, Georgia’s charter high schools posted a 90.3% graduation rate—outperforming the statewide average of 87.2%. Notably, 68% of charter high schools graduated 95% or more of their students in four years (compared with 27% of non-charter schools), and 27% achieved a perfect 100% graduation rate (compared with just 4% of non-charter schools).
Statewide, Georgia’s high school seniors achieved a historic milestone, marking an increase from 85.4% in 2024 and the highest graduation rate since the state adopted the federally mandated adjusted cohort calculation in 2011.
