The Georgia Charter Schools Association congratulates DeKalb Brilliance Academy, The GLOBE Academy, and Four Points Preparatory Academy on their recent ribbon-cutting celebrations. These events mark major milestones—whether launching a brand-new school, expanding to serve more students or opening a long-awaited facility to address critical infrastructure needs. Each new or expanded campus reflects the dedication of Georgia’s charter school leaders to provide high-quality learning environments and expand access to public education.
DeKalb Brilliance Academy
On Friday, July 18, DeKalb Brilliance Academy celebrated a major milestone with the official opening of its new campus in the heart of South DeKalb. The ribbon-cutting marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter as the school expands from serving kindergarten through fourth grade to offering a full K-8 program, ultimately reaching up to 700 students.
The 60,000-square-foot facility is designed to inspire learning and innovation. It includes 36 bright, modern classrooms and four fully equipped science labs. The campus layout is intentionally crafted to support a dynamic, student-centered learning environment.
Grounded in an unwavering commitment to exceptional academics, leadership development and community collaboration, DeKalb Brilliance Academy prepares its students to thrive in high school and college, pursue fulfilling careers and become impactful leaders in their communities.
The GLOBE Academy
The GLOBE Academy celebrated the grand opening of its new lower campus on Monday, July 28, with a ribbon-cutting and facility tour. Located in Decatur, the new campus will serve kindergarten through fourth grade beginning Aug. 6, with fifth grade joining in 2026. The expansion allows GLOBE to consolidate its elementary program while freeing space at its upper campus on Briarcliff Road for grades 6-8.
With help from the Decide DeKalb Development Authority, GLOBE secured a $25 million bond to purchase the property from Clairemont Presbyterian Church, replacing its former leased facility.
Founded in 2013, the school offers a rigorous dual language immersion program in French, Mandarin and Spanish. Students spend half of their instructional time learning in a second language, helping them develop fluency and a global perspective from an early age.
Four Points Preparatory Academy
Four Points Preparatory Academy celebrated its ribbon cutting and school tour on Tuesday, July 22. The event marked an important milestone as Four Points prepares to welcome students and families from the community.
The tuition-free K–8 public charter school is part of National Heritage Academies (NHA), a charter school management company that operates more than 100 schools across nine states, serving more than 60,000 students.
Four Points offers a character-building curriculum and emphasizes strong relationships with caring staff—qualities that provide families with the educational opportunities they seek. The school board is proud to partner in this effort, supporting families looking for an environment tailored to their children’s needs.
