Georgia Charter Schools Exceed State Graduation Rate

Georgia’s public charter schools are helping boost Georgia’s overall high school graduation rate. New data from the Georgia Department of Education show that students attending charter high schools graduate at higher rates than the statewide average.

In 2025, Georgia’s charter high schools achieved a 91.08% four-year graduation rate, compared with the statewide rate of 88.5%. Notably, 59% of charter high schools graduated at least 95% of their students in four years, compared with 39% of non-charter high schools. Additionally, 18.2% of charter high schools achieved a 100% graduation rate, compared with 2% of non-charter high schools.

Georgia’s statewide graduation rate increased to 88.5% in 2025, marking the highest rate since the state adopted the federally mandated adjusted cohort calculation in 2011. With charter high schools graduating students at rates above the statewide average, they are helping contribute to this continued progress.

The Georgia Charter Schools Association congratulates the following schools for their outstanding achievements:

Charles Drew Senior Academy – 100% (Atlanta Public Schools – 91.2%, Statewide -88.5%)

Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics – 100% (Statewide – 88.5%)

Statesboro STEAM Academy – 100% (Bulloch County – 89.9%, Statewide – 88.5%)

Utopian Academy for the Arts – 100% (Clayton County – 88.3%, Statewide – 88.5%

Academy for Classical Education – 99.2% (Bibb County 87.6%, Statewide – 88.5%)

Walton High School – 97.8% (Cobb County 90.9%, Statewide – 88.5%)

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Charter School – 97.5% (Atlanta Public Schools – 91.2%, Statewide -8 8.5%)

Pataula Charter School – 97.5% (Attendance Zone Average = 95.3%, Statewide -88.5%)

Tapestry Public Charter School – 97.1% (DeKalb County – 83.3%, Statewide 88.5%)

Lake Oconee Academy – 97.1% (Greene County, Statewide – 88.5%)

Hapeville Charter Career Academy – 96.7% (Fulton County 93.4%, Statewide – 88.5%)

Atlanta Classical Academy – 94.6% (Atlanta Public Schools – 91.2%, Statewide -8 8.5%)

Savannah Classical Academy Charter High School – 93.8% (Savannah-Chatham County – 87.8%)

Baconton Community Charter School – 92.7% (Attendance Zone Average = 92.4%
