Starting in July, it will be easier for educators to gain admission to GaTAPP, an alternative teacher certification program. To ease a statewide teacher shortage, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission has approved a new rule that no longer requires those enrolling in GaTAPP to meet a minimum GPA requirement or receive a passing score on the Program Admission Assessment. GCSA offers the GaTAPP program and is currently enrolling candidates.
The new rule also waives the Program Admission Assessment requirement for individuals admitted to GaTAPP programs prior to the 2022-2023 academic year for program admission or certification.
