Georgia to Welcome Four New Charter Schools in 2025

Georgia continues to expand high-quality public education options with the launch of four new public charter schools in fall 2025: Cherokee Classical Academy, Four Points Preparatory Academy, Movement School South Fulton Elementary, and The Simple Vue Academy. These schools will offer diverse learning models—from classical and personalized education to STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and community-centered approaches—reflecting the state’s growing commitment to educational innovation and student-centered learning.

Cherokee Classical Academy

Opening on Wednesday, August 6, in Canton Georgia, Cherokee Classical Academy (CCA) will serve students in grades K–6 during its first year and add one grade level annually until reaching a full K–12 program. The state authorized charter school is part of the Liberty Classical Schools network.

CCA is tuition-free and open to students residing in Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Fulton, Pickens, and Paulding counties, as well as the cities of Marietta, Cartersville, and Atlanta.

The school will offer a rigorous liberal arts curriculum rooted in classical education and character development. CCA emphasizes a calm, professional learning environment, low-tech classrooms (with no cell phones during the school day), and strong support for teachers. As the school grows, it plans to offer robust athletics and fine arts programs, creating a full K–12 experience grounded in excellence, virtue, and academic rigor.

Four Points Preparatory Academy

Four Points Preparatory Academy will open July 31, 2025, as a tuition-free K–8 charter school located at 4825 Highway 53 in Braselton, Georgia. Operated by National Heritage Academies—a network of more than 100 charter schools nationwide—Four Points will launch with grades K–5 and expand to serve grades K–8.

The school focuses on personalized instruction and its Moral Focus curriculum, which integrates core virtues like perseverance, respect, compassion, and courage into daily lessons. Students explore each virtue through a progression of introduction, connection, reflection, and application, fostering self-awareness and a strong school culture.

Classroom instruction is differentiated to meet each student’s needs, with smaller learning environments, one-on-one support, and group projects. Advanced learners benefit from curriculum extensions that promote higher-order thinking. Programs like “Math Stories” and structured reading instruction ensure every child receives the tools to thrive academically and beyond.

Movement School South Fulton Elementary

Movement School South Fulton Elementary marks the Georgia debut of the Movement Schools network, which operates additional campuses in North and South Carolina. The Atlanta-based school will open in Fulton County on August 1, 2025, at 1950 Sullivan Road, serving Kindergarten, First Grade, and Third Grade in its first year. Additional grades will be added each year until the school reaches Fifth Grade.

Movement Schools take a holistic, whole-child approach to education, combining personalized learning and small-group instruction with character development and community engagement. The school partners closely with families through one-on-one meetings and initiatives like Grab the Key, a homeownership preparation program.

At the heart of Movement’s model is a focus on kindness, honesty, bravery, and academic excellence. Teachers are chosen for both skill and heart, and every child is supported to grow as a learner and a leader. Rooted in equity and driven by data, Movement School South Fulton is dedicated to building bright futures for students and their communities.

The Simple Vue Academy

Opening in Douglasville in Fall 2025, The Simple Vue Academy is a tuition-free public charter school offering STREAM education—Science, Technology, Reading/Writing, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—with an entrepreneurial mindset. The school will begin with grades 6 and 7 and grow in future years.

The Simple Vue Academy prepares students to be innovative problem-solvers and compassionate leaders. Through project-based learning, daily tailored instruction, and leadership development, students are challenged, celebrated, and deeply known. The school emphasizes academic mindset, financial literacy, and social-emotional learning, supported by a strong network of teachers and community mentors.

Rooted in the philosophy of Ubuntu—“I am because we are”—the school is co-created with families and guided by collaboration, equity, and care. Programs like Family University and a rotating parent liaison board ensure families are active partners in shaping the school experience.

Simple Vue nurtures an entrepreneurial spirit in every child—instilling the confidence to question, adapt, and lead in both school and life.
