Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Grethel Van Epps, an educator at International Charter School of Atlanta. ICSAtlanta is a public charter school authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission.
“Ms. Van Epps is a Spanish teacher for students in grades 4-7, and she is the Spanish track lead teacher for ICSAtlanta. Ms. Van Epps is an exceptional teacher, bringing her passion for education, creativity, and enthusiasm for Hispanic culture to the classroom and our school every day,” says Michele Neely, Development and Communications Manager for International Charter School of Atlanta. “She was awarded the Georgia World Language Educator of the Month for November by GaDOE. She led Hispanic Heritage Month activities at ICSAtlanta, including a Hispanic Heritage Festival that brought in more than 500 people. Ms. Van Epps organized and led ICSAtlanta’s first school-sponsored trip to Europe, taking middle grade students to Germany, France, and Spain. She is beloved by students, parents, and faculty.”
Van Epps is also pursuing her Master’s degree in math education and is an accomplished portrait photographer and seamstress.”
