Jacob Jones is a Physical Education teacher at North Metro Academy of Performing Arts. According to Dr. Rodriguez Johnson, Principal of NMAPA, “Coach Jones is the most dedicated and committed educator I have ever worked with in fifteen years. During the 2020-2021 school year, he executed exemplary instruction providing concurrent instruction. He engaged the students in person at high levels, and also kept the students who were participating in digital learning engaged. He made the digital students feel included.
Coach Jones has been very innovative during this year. He created a positive learning environment where he has been able to bridge the in-person community with the digital community. As students join his class he would have all students working together. He then created the same activities for the digital students that the in-person students were doing. He also started the Garden Club for the students in which the digital students would come after school and plant different vegetables in the garden and track the plants progress. He also started the running club where students come in at 7:00 a.m. and do different running drills. He has changed the lives of every student.”
