Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Joseph Sullivan, Math Department Chair at Mountain Education Charter High School’s Gilmer site.
“He works full-time at our local high school and then works two to three nights per week at our site working with students who have left day school due to a variety of challenges,” says Lori Chastain, Mr. Sullivan’s supervisor at Mountain Education Charter High School’s Gilmer site. “Most of our students are a year or more behind academically when they enroll at MECHS and for the majority, math is not a strength…but all students are encouraged and strengthened by Mr. Sullivan’s teaching and passion for learning. He truly loves seeing young people become successful!”
Mountain Education Charter High School is a public charter school authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission. The school’s mission is to provide a second chance opportunity for students across North Georgia to earn an accredited High School Diploma in a student-centered, self-paced, evening public high school.
