Katherine O’Connor is a second grade teacher at Tybee Island Maritime Academy. The parents who nominated Ms. O’Connor describe her as a dynamic educator who uses personalized learning to help her students succeed.
“She has helped my son excel where he was falling behind and has been such an amazing teacher going above and beyond for each student,” says one of the parents who nominated Ms. O’Connor.
“My children has learning disabilities and although that isn’t her area of expertise. She seems to find a way to convey the learning concepts to my child, says a Tybee Island Maritime Academy parent whose son is in Ms. O’Connor’s class. “She goes beyond the expected norm and that means a lot to my child and I.
She finds fun and engaging ways to teach her students during the difficult times.”
