The Kindezi Schools recently honored 16 educators by naming them 2017 Teachers of Distinction. According to the school, each teacher demonstrated excellence in student learning, holistic practice, strong community building and a growth mindset. All of the honorees will receive a $7,000—$9,000 salary increase for the 2017-2018 school year. School administrators say they provide this opportunity to inspire teachers and to assist them as they continue to grow and develop.
Administrators for The Kindezi Schools say ten of the eleven educators who were in last year’s Teachers of Distinction cohort have returned to Kindezi for the current school year. One previous Teacher of Distinction, Ruth Lambert, joins Tiambi Walker as a Founding Teacher of our new turnaround school at Gideons Elementary. Another, Steven Posey, is beginning his first year as a vice principal at The Kindezi School at Old Fouth Ward.
