In a recent audit report released by AdvancED, Odyssey Charter School received a score of 345.50 on a performance standards diagnostic the organization uses to evaluate an institution’s overall effectiveness. Odyssey’s score was 20 percent higher than the national average!
AdvancED is the parent organization of North Central Association of Colleges and School Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). The organization conducts rigorous on-site reviews of educational institutions across the U.S. and in dozens of other countries.
During the recent audit, every teacher in Odyssey Charter School was observed in their classrooms and critiqued by members of the AdvancEd’s audit team. Several group interviews were also performed during the audit and input was received from parents, students, community members and Odyssey office staff.
The AdvancED Performance Standards Diagnostic consists of components in three areas: Learning Capacity, Leadership Capacity and Resource Capacity. AdvancEd generates an Index of Quality Education (IEQ) score by combining the ratings of performance indicators and evaluative criteria within each of the three areas. The current national five-year Index of Quality Education range for public schools is 278.34 – 283.33.
