Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Roberta Young, an educator at International Charter School of Atlanta, a public charter school authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission. Young was nominated by two of her colleagues!
“Ms. Young is ICSAtlanta’s Director of Special Education, and she teaches children with disabilities. She nurtures and cares for her students and is always looking for ways to help her students succeed,” says Michele Neely, Development and Communications Manager “Not only does she manage ICSAtlanta’s special education program, but she also works one-on-one with students and leads groups. Students have made great progress, and she makes every single one feel special.”
“Roberta works hard to serve our special education students in a unique school setting (dual-language immersion),” says Jane Stewart, an instructional lead teacher at ICSAtlanta. “She meets our special education students’ needs while also acting as the school’s Special Education Coordinator. She puts in a lot of hours and does what is best for our students.”
