Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Robin Pede, a fourth grade teacher at Wesley International Academy. Colleagues describe Mrs. Pede as a veteran teacher who exemplifies how teacher dedication can make a tremendous impact in the lives of students.
“Mrs. Pede is not only a colleague of mine, but she is also the teacher of my son Elijah. Elijah previously came from a school district, that unfortunately, did not have all of the resources and necessary practices in place. Mrs. Pede knew the potential in my son, and would except nothing less than the best from him. She did not use belittlement to gain my son’s respect, but she established her authority while building him up, and showing him how capable he was,” says a fellow middle school colleague of Pede’s at Wesley International Academy. “My son is now showing tremendous growth not only in school but at home as well.
When I was informed that my son would have Mrs. Pede this year, I did the typical “asking around,” to get a feel of what to expect. Everyone that I spoke with had nothing but wonderful things to say about Mrs. Pede, and she has even exceeded those high expectations. There are many teachers at Wesley International that are worthy recognition by your association. However, if I could only chose one, I would have to chose Mrs. Pede. She is a role model for other teachers, and a caring, dedicated, and super knowledgeable teacher to her students.”
