Russell Savage, a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher at Fulton Academy of Science and Technology (FAST), helped his fellow educators adapt to remote learning. That’s according to the fellow FAST charter school educator who nominated Mr. Savage.
Mr. Savage’s colleague also gave him praise for working to prepare students for distance learning prior to the pandemic. The fellow educator says Mr. Savage’s preparation paid off, and he was easily able help his students make the transition to full-time remote learning. They also say he has been working tirelessly to ensure students are learning as much as possible in a virtual environment. The fellow educator says Mr. Savage strives to make learning fun and gives students an opportunity to get social interaction to aid in their social and emotional well-being.
