SBOE Charter Committee Approves Charter Authorizer Standards

The State Board of Education’s Charter Committee has approved the Charter School Authorizer Standards proposed by the Georgia Department of Education and the State Charter Schools Commission. The standards are scheduled to go before the full Board of Education for a vote tomorrow. An accompanying evaluation rubric for the standards is being developed and should be completed this spring. Charter School Authorizer Standards are required by law and are intended to influence and improve the practices and behaviors of charter school authorizers in Georgia.
