Georgia Charter Schools Association congratulates Brookhaven Innovation Academy, Cirrus Academy Charter School, Georgia Connections Academy, Ivy Preparatory Academy, Southwest Georgia STEM Charter School and Statesboro STEAM Academy for earning renewed charter terms from the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia.
The SCSC board of commissioners approved the renewal recommendations for the six state charter schools during an SCSC board meeting on February 23, 2022. Brookhaven Innovation Academy, Georgia Connections Academy and Statesboro STEAM received a five-year charter renewal. Ivy Preparatory Academy earned a three-year renewal with the possibility of a two-year extension. Southwest Georgia STEM earned a three-year renewal, and Cirrus Academy Charter School received a two-year renewal.
The SCSC also authorized expanded student populations for Georgia Connections Academy and Statesboro STEAM Academy. Georgia Connections currently serves students in grades 4-12 and will add grades K-3. Statesboro STEAM will expand from grades 6-12 to a K-12 school.
