The State Charter School Commission of Georgia (SCSC) is currently working with the National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) to assess its authorizing practices on the Georgia Principles and Standards for Quality Charter School Authorizing, and to help the SCSC carry out those practices more effectively. The SCSC is piloting this evaluation on the quality authorizing standards pursuant to state law and to strengthen Georgia’s charter school authorizing environment.
On or around Nov. 14, state charter schools will receive an e-mail from NACSA containing a link to an online Charter School Leadership Survey. Please respond to this survey by Nov. 25, as your responses will inform NACSA’s assessment and help the SCSC improve authorizing practices at the SCSC.
NACSA will also be on site on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 to meet with various SCSC stakeholders, including internal leadership and staff. Based on the survey feedback, NACSA may wish to meet with representatives from charter schools. If so, an SCSC representative will contact you to schedule a group interview with the NACSA evaluators while they are on site.
Thank you for your support as the SCSC strives for excellence in charter school authorizing and service to the students and families of Georgia.
