STEP is a documentary film that focuses on the story of a girls’ high-school step team from Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women in Baltimore, Maryland. The all-female charter school works to reshape the futures of its students by making it an objective for every member of their senior class to gain acceptance to and graduate from college. The school’s teachers, coaches, counselors and teammates all have a positive impact on the lives of step team members, and the young women on the step team learn to thrive as they work to overcome adversities.
As your school considers how to commemorate National Charter Schools Week, GCSA encourages you to hold a rally, invite elected officials to your school and to tell positive student, teacher and parent stories on social media. If you are already planning an event or a legislative visit, please contact Andrea Arroyo, GCSA’s Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, at aarroyo@gacharters.org.
You can also sign up HERE to receive social media badges, shareable graphics and more from the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
