Georgia Charter Schools Association is excited to recognize Sydney Berenson, a graduate of Charles R. Drew Charter School as an Outstanding Senior. Sydney is Drew Charter School’s 2021 salutatorian.
Sydney is a scholarly and driven student with a passion for academics. She has used the knowledge and determination instilled by her parents to achieve success in academia, athletics, and extracurriculars. Sydney is the President of both the Spanish Honor Society and the Environmental Club and is an active member of both the National Beta Club and National Honor Society. She has played varsity softball throughout high school and was the team captain during her senior year. One of her favorite quotes is, “Never regret a day in your life: good days give happiness, bad days give experience, worst days give lessons, and best days give memories.” This quote has taught her that life can be both extraordinary and heartbreaking but that everything happens for a reason. Having a positive outlook is essential to living one’s best life. Sydney’s career goal is to become an archaeologist or anthropologist. She ultimately wants to work for a museum or organization, such as National Geographic, which incorporates exploration and education to learn from and protect the natural wonders of our world.
