The Georgia Charter Schools Association wants for all Georgia public charter school leaders and board members to join us for the “State of Georgia Charter Schools” in one of the following locations: Monday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Atlanta; Friday, Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Albany; or Friday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Savannah. As we kick off a new school year together, this will be a perfect time to network with other school leaders, GCSA team members, and representatives from the Georgia Department of Education (Charter Division) and the State Charter Schools Commission.
During “The State of Georgia Charter Schools” we will explore the following questions:
- What’s new in charter law and policy?
- What are the major challenges and opportunities facing our schools and our movement this year?
- What’s ahead in our shared legislative and policy agenda?
- What new opportunities and services are available to strengthen your school’s success?
This will be an interactive session where everyone will be heard. We will utilize “Poll Everywhere,” which allows everyone in attendance to register their opinions, requests, and interests. As everyone inputs their answers, the results are shown graphically in real time on the projection screen. We aim to use this interactive tool to get your opinions, set some priorities, and generally hear from you.
There is no charge for this event. GCSA Associate members, Charter School Capital and Zaner-Bloser, have generously offered to provide lunch.
To register for this event, please contact Jeniffer Fletcher, GCSA Office Manager at jfletcher@gacharters.org or 404-835-8900.
