In August, two new public charter schools opened their doors to Georgia families. Atlanta SMART Academy (ASA) is a tuition-free, public charter school serving fifth through eighth-graders in southwest Atlanta and throughout the state of Georgia. The newly opened public charter school is an alumni member of Georgia Charter Schools Association’s Charter Incubator Program. Northwest Classical Academy (NCA) is a state-funded, public charter school located in Cobb County serving Georgia students in grades K-6. NCA is a replication of the highly successful Atlanta Classical Academy, an Atlanta Public charter school.
“Georgia Charter Schools Association is thrilled to welcome Atlanta SMART Academy and Northwest Classical Academy to the Georgia charter school community,” said Tony Roberts, GCSA’s President and CEO. “The opening of these two innovative public schools will allow more Georgia families to have access to a high-quality public school option that meets the individual needs of students.”
Atlanta SMART Academy and Northwest Classical Academy are authorized by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia. Read more about ASA and NCA below.
