Georgia Charter Schools Association salutes Tyteanna Harris, an educator at Wesley International Academy. Wesley International Academy is public charter school authorized by the Atlanta Board of Education.
“She takes the time to develop students who are struggling in different areas of content,” says Robyn McCoy, Wesley International’s School Clerk and PEP Financial Manager.
Harris is an eighth grade English Language Arts teacher. This is her third year as a teacher but her first in a charter school.
“I love to read and write, so I teach the craft to my students in an engaging way that can help them retain and apply it in our Language Arts classroom,” says Harris.
Harris allows students to oversee class stations and literature circles. She also facilitates a variety of hands-on activities to keep students engaged.
