Utilizing Technology to Reduce Risk and Safeguard Schools – This training is designed to provide school administrators, IT professionals, school resource officers, and other school staff how to utilize technology as part of their overall emergency preparedness planning and incident management capabilities. If implemented and used properly, software solutions, cyber systems, and other applications can serve as vital tools to assist school employees, first responders, and key stakeholders before, during, and after an emergency. The training will focus on emergency planning, violence prevention, and crisis response and management during active shooter events. Participants will gain a better understanding of how human resources combined with practical technologies can significantly reduce risk and foster an environment of safety and collaboration at their schools.
About the Presenter
Dr. Matthew Miraglia is President of CLPS and inventor of a cutting-edge hazard and threat management suite of software. He provides professional consulting services and licenses software to thousands of schools around the country. Dr. Miraglia has over 30 years of combined military, law enforcement, and security experience. He is a former U.S. Marine and retired Detective from the Scarsdale Police Department in Westchester County, NY. While working in law enforcement, he was a School Resource Officer and served on the New York State Counter Terrorism Intelligence Task Force. Dr. Miraglia is a nationally recognized scholar of security studies and has numerous publications in that concentration. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice, M.S. in Organizational Leadership, M.B.A. in Management, Post-Master’s Certificate in National Security, and Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership.
