The GCSA and several GCSA member schools are featured in a newly-released news feature by ChoiceMedia.TV, a new website dedicated to news and information on public education and school choice issues.
The piece, titled “The Day the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” talks about the May Georgia Supreme Court decision that declared the Georgia Charter Schools Commission unconstitutional, and sent 16 Commission-approved charter schools scrambling for survival.
Featured in the seven-minute clip are GCSA President/CEO Dr. Tony Roberts, former Commission and GCSA board member BJ VanGundy, Ivy Preparatory Academy founder Nina Gilbert, Fulton Leadership Academy Principal Dr. Gavin Samms and The Museum School of Avondale Estates Principal Katherine Kelbaugh.
Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal was also interviewed and included in the piece, which can be seen here.
