Free Petitioner "Boot Camp"

The State Charter Schools Commission will host a free “boot camp” training on January 27, 2014 to help prepare potential state charter petitioners for the Spring 2014 charter petition cycle. This single-day training session, to be held at The Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center, will provide an overview of the state charter petition process and discuss ways in which stakeholders can develop a strong charter petition, specifically focusing on school governance, academic and financial accountability, and community engagement. Presenters will include SCSC staff, the Georgia Charter Schools Association, and successful state charter petitioners. Space is limited — please RSVP to Lauren Wright, SCSC Director of Organizational and Resource Development, 404-656-2822.
