Overview: The Georgia Charter Schools Association (GCSA) is a statewide nonprofit organization committed to expanding the charter school movement in Georgia and increasing the quality of new and existing charter schools both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Position: This position will support GCSA’s efforts in implementing a performance management data system and will include research and data analysis. Further, the position will support the School Services team in identifying areas of weakness and trends to support through training and technical support and will support the Advocacy team by providing key data to drive messaging. Some training and leading of data teams at the school level are part of the requirements for this position.
Successful fulfillment of this role will result in providing the Association with data that will identify successful schools, practices, models and interventions that can advance progress in the charter school community in Georgia. The ultimate goal of the position is to facilitate higher academic achievement and sustainable business operations in Georgia’s charter schools.
Responsibilities for System Implementation and Ongoing Performance Management
Administrate the ongoing integrity of the internal data systems.
Schedule and perform data audits.
Document, communicate, and maintain the enterprise data dictionary.
Interface with the State of Georgia Department of Education and other data collection agents such as Georgia Charter Schools Commission, Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, and LEA Authorizers to obtain and report specific data and performance against established Quality School Standards.
Provide training and support assistance to staff on data related issues or needs.
Prepare Data Process Standards and Policies.
Maintain data consistency across all data systems.
Support reporting data creation and use of data systems, to include, Reporting Services data set maintenance and overall user administration.
Create or access data reports, analyze data trends, and prepare information pertaining to topics as identified under GCSA’s strategic initiatives.
Create or facilitate creation of basic and complex custom reports as requested by user base.
Maintain a calendar of all data reporting periods, demands, and audits both internally and externally.
Perform vendor coordination as applicable to data needs and administration of the PMDS.
Implement a comprehensive data system of performance management in coordination with the School Services Team.
Interface with the State of Georgia Department of Education and other data collection agents such as Georgia Charter Schools Commission, Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, and LEA Authorizers to obtain and report specific data and performance against established Quality School Standards.
Work collaboratively with the School Services Team to use data to drive development and implementation of relevant and effective training programs and services for charter school administrators, boards, staff, and teachers across the state.
Through the use of data, support the School Services Team in providing on-site technical assistance for individual charter schools with the aim of using data to improve student achievement.
Prepare and present on charter sector data.
Manage and prepare reports for publication through GCSA, other state organizations, and for scholarly journals for the purpose of advocacy.
Cloning and administering the Association’s mobile lab and supporting the Association’s technology infrastructure.
Assume other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits such as health and
dental provided. No relocation expenses paid.
