Charter School Development 101 Workshop is for you.
Atlanta, GA (July 16, 2012) — The Georgia Charter Schools Association (GCSA) is pleased to announce a new workshop, Charter Development 101, for individuals and groups interested in launching a public charter school in Georgia. The workshop will be held on July 27th, from 1-5 pm at GCSA offices, 600 West Peachtree St., Suite 1555, Atlanta, GA 30308, 12th floor training room.
The session will be taught by Elisa Falco, GCSA’s Director of Education & Training, and a former charter school principal. Falco explained the value of the workshop for anyone thinking about starting a charter school. “Quality chartering starts with a clear understanding of the barriers, guidelines and scope of work involved in developing a high quality petition. The earlier a petitioner group understands and clarifies these issues, the stronger their petition will be.”
The following topics will be reviewed and discussed at the session:
- Chartering in Georgia
- Developing Your Founding Board
- Educational Innovation
- Developing a Mission Statement
- Community Engagement and Support
- GaDOE Guidelines
- Next Steps…Establishing a Timetable
- Q & A
Workshop fee is $75.00 per participant. Discounts are available for groups of 3 or more. Please contact Elisa A. Falco, at efalco@gacharters.org or (404) 550-9401. To register for the workshop visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GJCMBN6 and complete the online form.
